It is now easier than ever before to get your amateur radio licence as the licence has now been divided into three separate levels. The Foundation Licence, The Intermediate Licence and the Advanced Licence.

Amateur Radio is a technical hobby with a very large number of activities within it. You may only want to talk to friends over the radio but on the other hand you can do much more if you want to. You can connect your radio to your computer and send and receive text and pictures very much the same as the internet, as well as talking to and making friends around the world. You can communicate by using satellite, send and receive morse code, send television pictures and much more.

Whether you are very young or not so young you can do as much or as little as you want in amateur radio.

Macclesfield & District Amateur Radio Society has members of all ages and abilities and can offer training to help you get started and then to advance to as far as you want to go. Why not come and see what we can do for you.

Email us with the button above or call in at one of our meetings.

Macclesfield & District Amateur Radio Society meets every Monday at the Pack Horse Bowling Club, Westminster Road, Macclesfield at 8.00 pm.

We also have a club net on 2 meters from 8.00pm every Thursday. All are welcome to join the net.

The Above Drawing of the "108 Steps" was drawn by G1NOF Gordon Trelfa. Now sadly "silent key".
